S Curves

Lifecycle allignment

curves can be used to plot the evolution of an industry, company or product over a period of time. S curve growth exhibits a progression from small beginnings that accelerates and approaches a climax, and eventually decline. S curves can be used to map personal growth also, whether it be learning, experience or competency.

S curves follow the shape of the letter S, like a wave with flat growth at the bottom of the S. Slow and gradual growth comes next, followed by a steep curve culminating in a dominant position at the top of the S.

Typically, the S curve is broken into three broad phases: growth, scale, and maturity, we wil explore six phases.
